It seems that the sale on the US Acoustics 100 watt x 2 amp that I was going to use to power my Viper 550.2s is up, it seems they are out of stock. Does anyone know anything about Profile amps? How would it be using a Profile California CA400, rated at the same 100 watts x 2 RMS (although at 14.4v instead of the US acoustic's 12.5)?
Thanks all,
Dave

I've had limited experience with Profile amps but the experience I did have wasn't bad. They are inexpensive and anything but high-end, but they do the job. A friend of mine ran 2 12" Infinity Perfects with a Profile amp (can't remember the amp's wattage) and they sounded great. I'll admit I doubted the amp based on its price and specs, but it did a fine job for his needs.

I had a profile jam (low end, old model) and I was pretty happy with them and I just ordered a profile clarius 640 (75x4 RMS @4ohm) from ebay for 114$. they are not top end but they are really good for what you pay.

If money is not an option find an old Orion amp. Any gx, sx, xtr, or for the best overall amps ever made the hcca series amps. Pure power, very low distortion and if wired properly a single amp can power an entire system. Just not any of their new stuff, they are junk. There are several on ebay with reasonable prices.

I agree, but if you go through ikesound.com, you don't get the factory warranty. If you have sounddomain.com price-match ikesound's, then you get the warranty.

What about getting a US Acoustics or even a SoundStream amp thats only rated at 80 watts x 2 RMS, I know that's underpowering my vipers by 20 watts, but both amps are sure to make their rated power and more. Just an idea.....any thoughts?

That's what I thought. I'd recommend soundstream, they make quality amps. If you watch your gains, you could give them about 150RMS and be safe: http://www.millionbuy.com/souega2300.html
