Hello all,
I am about to order a set of H&R Super Sport springs and just want to check to make sure that noone is having any problems with them. I had Eibach Sportlines on my 97 Cobra and they hurt too much on the kidneys. I had H&Rs on my 03 Cobra that was stolen and really liked the drop and the ride. Also, am I going to need to do anything else besides put the springs in (ie: adjust some bar or anything)? Just picked up my 06 Black GT on Saturday and all ready starting the modding. Hurst shifter goes in on thursday! I love being back in the Mustang world!!! Thanks in advance for your help....

Kris

Panhard rod, brace and LCAs are good to keep the rear geometry intact. All available from www.bmrfabrication.com. Not necessary for simply cruising, though.

I believe this is correct...

I have the steeda and experiencing noise problems.

I am upset because I don't receive any support from steeda.

I also find the ride a little harsh...

Have fun with yor 06 !!!

There has been conversation among the S197 crowd about problems with spring clocking and certain manufacturers that did not do it correctly. H&R DOES NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM!

If you ever need H&R service, I will make sure it happens or fire someone...

I got them installed and I have to say they are just as good as the previous H&R's that I have had. I for one will not go back to Eibach from the H&R's. Just a personal preferance I guess. Thanks all!

Kris

I actually went with the OEM Sport Springs because of the modest drop of 1" in the front and .75" in the rear.

Not trying to hijack your thread or anything, I just know how everyone dislikes multiple threads discussing the same topic. I figured I would just ask my question here. How hard is it to install these lowering springs? I am not a pro when it comes to these technical things but not totally ignortant. I plan on purchasing the H&R springs GTracerX has on his car and the local shops here want to charge about 80 bucks a corner, and that's not including a four wheel allignment afterwards. I have access to tools and a lift, can one do this on their own with limited expertise?

BTW both of you guys cars look great!

thanks

20,000 miles and running strong with the H&R's

I have the Super Sport springs with the 2" drop. GRC PErformance recommended them over the eibachs and installed them for me. I haven't had a single problem. I don't even have fender rub with my 255 tires. I ride my stang hard and fast when I can. No noises, no problems. They even told me it would not be worthwhile right now to get the camber adjusters since it all stays within normal limits after alignment. I must say I agree with them since I have had no off balance tire wear or problems in the ride after all these miles. If camber adjusters were really that necessary, I figure, then there would be more than just one company (steeda) selling them and emphasizing their importance by now. Until I see bad side effects, I'm running my pony as is, and it rides like a dream. Thanks GRC! I just want to know what you guys think of long tube headers, namely JBA vs. Hooker. Thanks!

It's a pretty easy job and there are several very good articles written about the installs - just do a little digging and you're sure to find them. All you really need is a spring compressor for the fronts, but a very easy job to do overall.
