i was thinking of removing mine, because i never use it, and it will reduce some weight. my question is, does anyone know how much weight this will take off the front of my car?

of course i am not going to do this unless i am absolutly sure that i am keeping the car for a long time. i was thinking of trading it, but for all the money i would loose on the trade and paying into a higher model, my gt can be super fast.

i think im keeping it as long as i can keep it emissions legal and get it as fast as i want it to be. heads, built, kb.....all leagal i hope :D

none of you race guys/track guys got rid of the air???

am i the only onr think about this?

if not, i have come across the air delete kit will i need this? i thought i could just rip the thing out

any info appreciated, thanks

A couple of things.

1) Why would you do this if it's going to be a daily driver? The only people that do a AC delete are the ones that are going to use the car on the track. You might hardly use it now but what about the heat? Do you ever use it?

2) The weight you are going to save is neglible. At most you might gain half a horsey for removing the AC components. There are other things you can do beside remove your AC.

2gts4us thanks for that valuble link, and the info i needed. :nice:

my car is not a daily driver so i thought i could get away with this mod.

however does the heat run off the same unit, i thought it was seperate?

Unless you are gutting the interior portion as well, you should be fine - keep the heater core and the fan(s). But pls understand, your talking to a Floridian. I'm not even sure our Stangs have heat! Seriously, PM KenB, the 2V king. Or check in with some of the guys over at Modular Depot - there are a few I know of that have done the A/C delete.

ok thanks again, i will throw this post over on modular depot and see what they think.

honestly, i dont even really use the head either, but i would like to retain the use of the defrost, just incase. car doesnt really fog up noe(8,500) miles, but you never know when it gets older.
