I'm trying to decide on new tires and I was thinking about getting a thicker sidewall this time and a little bit wider. I have Toyo Proxes 245/45/r17 and they are way to narrow. What tires do you all like? Most people seem to be running 275/40/R17 but I wanted more sidewall this time but I might go with something different.

I have BFG G-Force Sport 255/45zr17 on all four corners. I like them, they look pretty good (with 25mm rear wheel spacers) on the stock bullitt-type wheels. I also had the balance weights mounted on the inside of the wheel and replaced the locking lug nuts with stock ones.

275/55 are kinda expensive, you'll have to recalibrate your speedometer, and they may not fit right on a stock wheel. I like the 255/45s, they are reasonably priced, but they probably are not what you're looking for. Good luck.

Stock wheels, 255's will look better, I hate the buldge from 275's and stock wheels.

If ur wanting taller sidewalls, get smaller wheels. Its a mustang, not a 4x4.......

I don't have stock wheels. Forget the taller sidewalls, what tires do you all like in the 275/40 or 45 r17 size range?

I'd go for the 275/40 's. BFG KDW2's would be a good choice.... or the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's.

ive got speedo probs. because of the 4.10s, but the little taller tire corrected it only by a mph. its normally off 10mph.

agreed here, you need to stick with a 40 or 45 sidewall hight.
