Anyone running 315's out the back? What do u run on the front? Tailpipes?

i ended up going the other direction ...

i went back to 17 inch rims and all weather tires all around.

iirc, they are 17x8 and 245/45s, but they might be 17x9 and 255/40s, my memory sucks now.

now i can drive it any time of the year i feel like it (or need to because another car is in the shop) without worrying (if i ever get the damn tranny fixxed) and i can rotate the tires when i am supposed to.

i learned this the hard way a year ago ... summer only tires can get REALLY SLICK when it is cold out.

and tires cost a whole lot less now than they used to.

but that's just me

oh, and fwiw, i don't run tailpipes on the front

I like my 315's however im looking in to toyo 888s

i had the 888s ...

they look sweet and are great when it is warm, but those were the tires that lost they their traction in the cold and caused my son to lose control and go over the curb last year, ruining 3 tires and rims, and bending my k-member. it was almost exactly a year ago now, and it was like it is now in DC, upper 20s/low 30s.

that was the event that made me decide to stay with all season tires.

and they ran me like $250 a piece too

i am running 325 dr's in the back so 315 are definately do able. 15 inch pro stars with a 6" back space. quad shocks are gone upgraded suspension, rolled fender lip etc. very close on exhaust but it fits

Not to be rude, but lets add a ton of the driver mod to avoid that happening again too.

yes, you are right ... a more experienced driver may have been able to avoid going over the curb and causing the damage that wasa caused.

but i don't think it changes the reality that the tires would not have lost traction like they did had it not been cold out.

You're right, better tires would have reduced the chance...not eliminated it. Not sure if anything short of a slick can keep that monster in line LOL.

I have AFS cobra wheels on my '94 GT. 315s in the back and 245s in the front. I initially went with 275 255 on REAL ford Cobra R wheels from ford....but I had all sorts of tracking issues. Two handed driving was required if in the ruts. I think the offset was a little weird with the Real Cobra R's, they stuck out slightly in the front and tucked in the back.....I think this contributed to the tracking issues. I have NO tracking with the 245s up front..... It handles just fine for me, I do like to drive twisty roads. I bought the AFS wheels in a package deal, I don't see this deal anymore....its been a few years. No rubbing with my mac 3" tips and I reversed the quad shocks for better clearance.

My silver FR500's came with Sumitomo HTRZ's.. They were PATHETIC... No traction whatsoever.. Very hard.

I was running 315/30/18 Azenis with my Flowmaster Catback, No quadshocks, and stock control arms with no rubbing whatsoever.. I now can easily tuck another inch to the inside without the tailpipes..

I just put 275's on the front and 315's on the rear of my 95 yesterday. The wheels were 03 Cobras, 17x9 front, 17x10.5 back. The offsets and backspacing were +26mm/6.11 front and +27mm/6.90 rear. I had to remove the quad shocks and bend the parking brake brackets a little. Otherwise they seen to fit well. Plenty of room with the exhaust (Flowmaster Force II). Fronts seem ok also. I haven't driven it yet, It is pretty crappy in West Michigan. I have the Sumitomo tires on them. I have had them before. I think they are good for the money, good street tires for cruising. I will probably get a set for the rear with something sticky for the track.

I run 95 Cobra R rims 17X9 front 17x10.5 rear.

I run 255's on the front BF Goodrich KDW2's and 315 Nitto DR's on the rear. I have the quad shocks still on and I have no rubbing issues and I have MM LCA's and the tail pipes dont rub (magnaflow 2.5" exhaust)
