Anyone see 2011 GTs having problems?

Im ready to order a 2011 GT when they let us and i've always been told not to order first yr production ect until they get the bugs worked out. Just wondering since its the same as a 2010 beside drivetrain...what is your input on this? Wait about 6months or so to order or just go ahead asap. Thanks for your input on this one. Ive been dying to get back into a V-8 Stang and this is gonna be the one im thinking.

I'd wait till the end of the first year run cuz you know in six months that theyll know any probs by then.

Just buy what you like,it will be under warranty.There will be problems with all cars,I work at Honda and see problems with older years and newer years,the problems are usually where the parts are made and the factory at which they are built.The 2010 is awesome and I know the 2011 will be even better.

The 2011 is an S197 Mustang. You can count that all the parts that have been developed since the first 05 models will be fine if not better. The only question is on the drivetrain components but as was stated if you like it buy it and let the warranty take care of issues that MAY happen.

For the real changes in the first S197 you had to wait until the 07 and then later 09 models do you really want to wait till almost the end of this car's run to buy one?

Go for it. Or wait until 2012 and get a Boss But really, that's what warranties are for, and as stated, it's not a complete redesign.

I say do it. My mom ordered her 05 sixxer when the dealership started taking orders, and only had a few issues (computer was a big one, her car almost fell into the lemon law), but all of which were taken care of, free of charge and in a timely manner. If you love the car, go for it! Any issues will be covered under warranty. Enjoy!

I understand if there are problems it will be covered and charge free of me but I know how alot of dealership mechanics are hacks! I def don't want my new car hanging out at the dealership more then my house.

I have been a mechanic at a Honda dealer for years,too many actually.Yes you will find hacks in this field,you won't believe some of the things I have seen,find a good mechanic you can trust and stick with him.But don't worry its a Ford ,better quality than Toyota remember.

You will find problems with all makes and models, whether they are brand new models or not.
If you like the car and can afford one, get it.
I am waiting to see the list price and what it actually looks like.
Perhaps Ford will also clear out the 2010 models with some really good incentives.

from the way it seems just going to be a engine change and not really a "new" car ..so really all that may be problem would be PC , mapping or something like that ..if there isnt any thing wrong with the actual block...

Not sure, but if they keep true to previous models, it should be good. I really haven't looked at the rumors or anything running around yet, but if I had to guess, I'd say either a 5.4 or 5.8 pushing about 500HP NA, suspension upgrades, and a nice styling package.

I was looking at buying a 2010 Mustang GT until I saw this ad for a 2008 GT.
I bought the 2008 GT (with all options plus mods) for $12,000 less than the 2010 without any mods, for me the 2010 wasn't $12,000 nicer than the 2008

Bottom line keep an open mind, be patient there are a lot of good deals around.

Good call.. just wonder how a 5.0 will fit in them, crate motors will be selling well...

Well, this is a brand new engine and design. The ECU has a lot more tables and you also have a more complicated VVT in the picture. So, there will be lots of reflashes by dealers and if you have already changed the ECU for intake or headers, you'll run into issues. This new engine is much more advance and requires more control by ECU. For driving it stock, I'll be fine as long as you walk into dealer and get updates, but if you planning to mod the engine, wait till the ECU has matured.

So Im thinking Oct-Nov ..You think all the bugs and such will be out by then ??

I would definitely wait for the 2012 year...the new power-train (i.e. 5.0 Engine) will definitely have some bugs in it...and when they do it's not that easy to just have it fixed in one afternoon. I'm sure they'll most of the kinks will be out of the engine by '12 model...but there are people who just can't wait to be the first on their block with a 2011 (and then unfortunately, they're the first one to line up at the dealership with a problem)...my advice...wait!
P.S. Ford admitted already that they "rushed" the timeline on this...they were awakened out of their stupor by the Bowtie guys and the Camaro...so that should make you a bit more unsure of the bugs in the new 5.0L engine.
