Anyway to get into the 12's N/A or really close??

Ok guys and gals, I will finally have the money to get all the mods I want this summer. My goal is to try and get into the 12's N/A, or as close as possible, but if I absolutly have to, i will run an NX nitrous kit. So far, I have thought of these mods to try and get there:
BBK LT's, possibly change to Magnaflow catback, Steeda G-Trace Stage 1 suspension, Steeda CAI, Steeda T/A, Steeda U/D pullies, Steeda Tranny Cooler,Tokico shocks/struts, deep dish bullit rims (black) 17x9 in front and 17x10.5 out back, Nitto NT555 245/45/17 in front, Nitto NT555R DR's 315/35/17 in the rear, PI Stallion Torque Converter (around 3000 rpms), Jerry Mod, FRPP 4.10s, FMS aluminum driveshaft, Custom Tune, C&L plenum and TB.

I plan on ordering everything around the same time so that I can get everything installed and put one at the same time so I dont have to have the car tuned twice. Please tell me if you think with these mods I can come close to 12's, or chime in and tell me if there is something else I need to add or if something wont work together with this set-up. I probably wont have the money for nitrous as well this summer, but who knows. Plus, there is always X-mas!!! Thanks all!!

Suspension, suspension, suspension. Forget the steeda G Trac (road race stuff) and get 4.10s, a good diff, axles, good ucas & lcas, aluminum ds, adjustable shocks and struts, the converter, slicks, skinnies, and then make more power. There's a whole lot more to getting a car down the track than making power.

if I'm not mistaken, there is a guy on here(I forgot his name) with 3 power mods...intake plenum, catback and o/r x pipe running 13.1xx. Of course hes changed gears, but he's pretty much redone the suspension and thats all.

my .02

gears first 4.30's
then some longtubes
cams
plenum tb.

then go run the car. you may be suprised. do this in some stages. they way you have that list spread out you spending $$$$$$$$ out the a#$ but spending everywhere. take some baby steps. add the gear and power then see how the car responds. then maybe go with the bigger tires and LCA's. the susptenion you picked is kind of a handling suspention which is fine but you may need more power to offset that stiffer suspention you car may have been faster at the drag strip with the stock suspention. this is why I say do it in stages.

some of the money you are spending is kind of a waste. steeda cai(money better used elswere), timing adjuster and a custom tune as well. you could just get an sct chip with two tunes one at noraml timing one at advaced timing.

I think people try to throw too many mods at cars sometimes and avoid more expensive ones like cams. A few little mods add up to more expensive ones like cams.

like alot of people said suspension. but i would recommend you take this to modulardepot.com which is a more technical site.... people know there stuff over there....

anyways cams and new heads are a good idea as well..... you can make 330hp n/a doing this....

do bigger mods not cai, t/a, etc.

Whatever happene to bill92 (or whatever his username was:shrug:)

Suspension is a MAJOR thing to work on :nice:

Mustang92 is Bill Putnam...you'll find him over at modulardepot with alot of other NA guys...go over to modulardepot and go in the 2v Tech forum and click on the sticky "5 components to a 12 sec NA gt" u really only need 240-250rwhp as long as u have, semi good driver, some weight reduction, and slicks....as for suspension...its possible to hit 12s on stock suspension but an aftermarket suspension will help u out...look into a set of aftermarket struts, adjustable UCAs, a set of LCAs, and stay away from springs that are gonna slam ur car on the ground...u can get a very nice drop using 8cyl fox springs in the rear and 4cyl fox springs in the front...or if u want go with a coilover setup up front...dont waste ur money on shocks unless urs have gone bad...the stock shocks are 50/50 and will be fine

Awesome, thanks a lot Hognutz! The only thing I'm wondering about is the suspension part. This car is my daily driver and will be for a while cause I love it!! Any recommedations as to what to do to it since it will be my daily. My car is auto too.
if its your daily driver, go with 4.10's.. Upper/Lower control arms to put the power to the ground, wider nittos out back. plenum t/b combo.. and some subframes so your frame doesn't take a beating

Ck out the latest 5.0 mag, June 2004 issue. Ken Bjonnes cranked out an 11.72 at 116.35 with his N/A '00 GT. The secret? A not-so-trick 318 RWHP, 500 lb diet and great selection of suspension pieces, plus he's probably a pretty good driver!...ck it out or find him on modulardepot.com . A gearhead I can certainly appreciate and admire...you gotta be impressed!

Ok, I think I may have made some decisions. Heres my NEW list!!:
Panhard bar, Tokico 5-ways, Eibach Pro-kit, Black deep dish bullits wrapped in Nittos w/ Nitto DRs out back (315's), VT cams, C&L Plenum/TB, BBK LTs, PI Stallion Torque Converter, 4.10s, Steeda Tranny cooler, Jerry Mod, Steeda CAI (mainly for looks), and ECU reflash to correct for tires/wheels/gears. If I have some more money left over, I will get the control arms and subframe connectors. Maybe switch to Magnaflow cat-back as well.
