Are longtubes really a MUST when it comes to higher rpms and HP?
How much of an increase are we really talking about...10-15 maybe? Actually, I always thought that longtubes give more lowend torque and HP while the shorties provided more upper rpm torque and power.(tube size being equal)
I guess what I'm really asking is: Are they ABSOLUTLY needed to run 11's?

Any 11 second guys out there with shorties?

I don't think they are a must. I have never run anything but them. They helped my top end over the stock "headers". Most of the guys I know run them and say they kill the shortys.

I love my BBK's....but I went from stock to Long tubes so I can't really compare....word to the wise....remember to check the header bolts after a month or so after the install. Spending the evening replacing a header gasket reminded me of that the hard way.

Wow this topic is getting as bad as "how much hp do i have".

There's at least one other huge thread out right now about full lengths vs. shorties. You'll get 1k opinions so you'll be better off just searching for the thread and reading it instead of waiting for those opinions to get posted again.
