Autolite Sparkplug Question.

Hello Everyone!

I'm doin' the plugs on my 96GT vert tomorrow so I have a question about my plug choice...

I picked up a set of Autolite AP104 platinum plugs(original equipment)...Are these the right ones?
The Autozone guy also said there is no need to gap them since they are platinum...Is that correct?

I already know about how careful I have to be with the threads.... 7-14 lbs. on the torque wrench.. Nice and easy

I always go ahead and check the gap. It really takes no time and its good to know for sure your gap is right.

If you have PI heads I would go with Motorcraft plugs and definitely gap them - especially if you are running nitrous or a blower.

Opps sorry guys. Forgot to mention that the car is ALL stock, sans UPR x-pipe. I'm just doing some preventative maintanence.

So check the gap anyways? Ok cool. Thanks for the replies thus far....

No matter what anyone tells you,,, ALWAYS check the gap on a plug before putting it into your engine.

...and, as you probably already know, replace plugs on a cold engine.

Did them yesterday. Thanks for the help.... The car now runs like a champ!
