Hey i got a 1992 mustang lx notch... 4cyl obv 2.3L and the teeth look terrible i noticed no oil pressure 2day n my first guess was bad sensor but i checked the dist gear and it is stripped on like 4 - 5 teeth in a row and the auxiliary gear is chipped off! anyone no where i can purchase these gears at?

im sorry i really shouldnt say chipped off just small pieces look like they have been chipped off the auxiliary gear, if anyone could direct me 2 where i could get a couple of new gears i would b very very happy

You'll need a whole new aux shaft. You can try Ford, but it may have already been discontinued.

Aux shaft PN# E4FZ-6A739-A. The last one I bought (in '05) was just over 100 dollars.

I don't have the part number for the oil pump drive assembly. Try Ford first There is no aftermarket option available for them either. The gear should be the same as a typical 2.3 distributor so that may prove to be a solution to that problem. Those are readily available.

On the high end, Esslinger makes a billet shaft and a bronze distributor gear set for around 270 bucks.

On the low end, Find another 4 cyl stang or Ranger in a salvage yard and grab the parts you need.
