I rebuiling a 302 and wound like to know which cam will give me the more bang for the buck

before anyone tears you a new hole- i suggest posting a litttle bit more detail on this rebuild. whether its a complete stock build w/ better cam? if not what type of heads? intake? HP youre trying to acheive? daily driver or not?

all things you must consider :nice:

yeah. I rebuilt my 306 a couple of months ago. Since then I have changed out my intake manifold, and about to change my cam maybe. SOO think it through step for step if not you will be unhappy with your setup like me.

its a stock bottom end and stock heads but done some porting and I'm going to put the bbk intake with stock19b injectors, bbk shorty headers cold air with 75mm mass air TB and 1.6 roller rockers. Its a daily driver and how much HP and sorry but I mean B303 or E303?

Well I had both the B and F cams. I liked them both but the B cam on sooner. The F cam last in the rpm range longer up high. I honestly say stock heads B cam and aftermarket heads F cam.

BTW- I have a F cam with less than 1,000 miles for $135

I currently have the b303 in one of my cars and I can't complain. Runs strong with my combo and I don't regret using it. My car has a damn nice powerband. I'm sick of others always preaching the the alphabetic cams suck blah blah blah........

You suck

J/K that car is Crazy fast.. Better Have that clutch ready to be installed when i get there in December.

I don't like any of the Alphabet grinds. A custom or even off the shelf dual pattern grind is a better choice all the way around, any day of the week. They may cost a few dollars more than the "cookie cutter" Ford Bump sticks, but if you're going to spend money any place within your engine, that's the place to do it.

I agree.

Hey Paul Ram360 is from the northeast corner about 1 1/2 hours from Philly I lived 10 minutes from him. Ill be up there in December. Maybe me and ram can come check your beast out.

A custom cam might be better but I honestly don't think $100 plus better if your on a limited budget.

Ford stopped making the 5.0 motor in the mustang over 10 years ago. They still make the B, E, F, X, and Z cams. Why? Because they work and they work great. Most custom cams you will have to dish the pistons. You don't have to with B,E, or even the F cam.

I understand custom cams are better but he was asking about the Ford cams. Help him out instead of changing the thread.

I like the E cam on a fairly stock motor. Probably wont gain any real power over the stock one on that combo but they sure do sound cool.:D If you decide to go with a B cam and happen to have an automatic, you will want a pretty loose stall but the E would be better for an auto anyway. You might also consider the TFS stage 1. I have heard alot of poeple really like that one and its cheaper than the FMS cams.
