My car is an auto too, the F cam is good for power but you sacrifice comfort. It had a real rough feel to it and it is not emission legal.

did you have any problems keeping the car running at red lights because the cam had such a bad idle? what was "uncomforatable " abbout the cam? thanks for the info i just want to know what im getting myself into with this new cam and all. im not too concerned on how rough the idle is just as long as it can kick some japanese tin cans around the street!

I have a AOD is going to be rebuild but I have to argy with skip nay why do they keep making them with a B303 I dont have to change the torque converter
OK, first...I have no clue what the **** you just said. But just in case you were saying that you have an AOD and you plan to use a B303 with the stock converter....

You WILL be dissapointed with that cam and a stock converter. I have a B303 in my 93 vert with a C4 and a 2400-2600 converter and I wish I had gone with something closer to a 3500. That cam likes to idle fairly high and doesnt have as much down low grunt as the E303. I stand behind what I said about the E303 being better for an automatic car weather you agree with me or not. SkipNay was comparing the B with the F I believe and in that case I would agree that the B would be better than the F but still not the best choice of the alphabet cams for your combo.

Its your car but dont say I didnt warn ya.

Only problem I had was that I had to use a Vac Canister to work the brakes, other than than I liked the F cam.

I would go with the E cam. The B cam won't hurt you either but it will keep the lift down.

Ok the B cam same as the b303 cam is

[email protected] lift and total is .480

The E cam same as the e303 cam is

[email protected] and total .498

You would get less lift with the B and alittle more duration. Lift helps you at high RPM and other areas to but the B cam in my opinion would be your best bet if you already have it.But if you wanted to get an E it would be easier for you to get it to work good with your automatic. If you went to a custom cam and then used different injectors mass air and throttle body. They will then tell you to use a custom cam right? YES
So that is why I'm saying use what you have now and enjoy it.

I agree on the B303 cam for your setup. I believe that is the cam I have by the sound of the car at Idle. I get alot of looks from everyone. The only downside not as many ricers wanna play when I am at a stoplight. My car was already modded when I got it so I am not sure of what the actual specs are as of yet.

from what ive herd from my dyno guy he usually used the b cam for n/a otors and e cam for boosted. I'm guessing b/c of the duration etc. It sounds liek for you a b cam would be better, a few other ppl i know have b cams and they sound good and have had good luck with them... I like my e cam but eventually it'll be switched out for something meaner...

E303

I have the E303 in a 99 gt40 engine, aluminum heads, cobra intakes, 65 tb, etc. The engine will idle at 750 rpm but is rough, likes 1000 rpm much better. Performance is good above 3500 rpm, but tricky off the line in daily driving. I am certainly no expert, but I expected more hp in exchange for the drop in drive-ability.

I have an F cam in a 306 and it pulls HARD from about 2,500ish all the way to my rev limiter (6,500). Sounds really good also, just make sure you have good heads, intake and exhaust to let it breath good. Im very happy with it, people who say custom cams are the only way to go *Cough* to much work to get them right, just drop in a letter cam and go. I've outrun two stangs with "high dollar custom ground cams" . A cam is a cam, anyone will work great as long as you match it to your combo in my opinion. I got a custom ground cam in my 67' Camaro with a 383, runs great, got the F cam in my Mustang, pulls strong also. I did my research and matched it to my engine combo...Sorry..got off subject. The F cam is great, just make sure you match it to the rest of your combo.:)
