A basic wash and vac job has turned into a headache! This van sits under a pine tree and looks like it hasnt moved all summer. the hood has sap spots all over it, looks like amber super glued to the hood and nothing i have tried will get it off. I dont want to put a great deal of time into it but would like to get them off. Is there anything that will work on pine sap but not eat the clearcoat?

Simple Green,
Spray on, let it sit a minute or so, scrub off.
Living in the "Pine tree state" (state flower is the pine cone) you need to know these things...I use it to take sap of my vehicles. However it will remove any wax you put on as well. So you will need to rewax if you use it. but that stuff will fall right off.

thanks, i almost bought some today to try it but bought this stuff called the tarminator made by stoner. Useing amounts so liberal that nancy pelosi shook her head i was able to remove most of it. She's just going to have to live with whats left. its her business van and the damn thing had like a mold growing on it! Dont speak well for how her biz is doing...
it needs waxed in the worst way, that should take care of whats left.

simple green is farily expensive for what it is. like $8-9.

Yeah i usually prep-spray my whole car with the spray bottle, then dilute some more in water to wash it, then clay, polish and wax

I use plain old rubbing alcohol to take of pine sap. Just have to rewax any spots as it will pull the wax off too.

go to a PPG automotive paint distributor. tell then the situation. they have a product that you can just soak rags and lay on your car. wait, then wipe off. simple as can be. i think it is called DX-40 or something like that.
