Well right now I have bassani's and with the combo in sig I dont really like the sound too much, I have only heard one 5.0 in person with the ultra-flo's but it was a 700 hp heavily modded car wich sounded amazing, and I have had magnaflows before but it was with a stock car with shorties, catless x-pipe, kinda courious what it would sound like right now with the cam LT's and the BBK catless x-pipe, well im kinda leaning towards the magnaflows right now, how do they sound on a modified stroker car? the same as a stock car? anybody wanna trade for my bassani's?

Mario

I have Ultra-Flows with turn downs and I love the way they sound. I'm running slightly more head, cam, and displacement than you are, but it will probably sound about the same. The flow great, and they don't drone. They are real quiet until you get on it. They are also a great quality muffler, I've had mine for about 9 years, and they don't have any rust, and they sound just as good now as when they were new.

I wish I could help..all I have is a bone stock 5.0 with magnaflows welded with stock taile pipes and souns like stock till floored...but you already knew that....Ive had ultra flos on other cars and I liked them...but I like magnaflows since they dont get louder over time as some other mufflers do

I like both Bassani and Dynomax exhaust. Bassani sounds like the old muscle car warble, I love the burble and popping I get during deceleration on my otherwise stock GT. Dynomax to me sounds more like a growl. I have Super Turbo's with OEM piping on my Cobra clone, so it's not really a fair comparison for you. Never tried Magnaflow mufflers. Have you searched YouTube for Mustangs with Magnaflows?

Look into some Magnapacks. They are made by Magnaflow and are kinda like a glasspack, but not quite the same. With an o/r X, they ABSOLUTELY SCREAM! :D
I've got em sittin in my room waiting to put em on, but I've heard everything from a stock 5.0 (sounded really good too) to a 331 similar to yours (INSANE!).

Def worth a look...

bassani exhaust = bassani x and catback?

First time i've heard someone not like their bassani stuff.

I have been told dynomax doesnt sound that different than bassani. I'd assume that for most standard "straight through" mufflers.

Have you considered a chambered muffler? Perhaps the spintech sportsmans?

LOL dont get me wrong I do like the way the Bassani's sound it's just that without cats (wich im leaving off) it's kinda got a weird rasp at around 2500k while under load. plus since they are center in offset out and the size of the muffler itself the muffler shop had a tough time lining them up without hiting the DS so they hang kinda low and scrape everything, just trying something new, ive had the following mufflers before: Flows 2-chamber, Magnaflow (stock car), spintech pro-streets and they each have their strengths but I wish I would have had the built motor then, what about Borla Pro XS? I hear their kinda quiet but nice under load? might be a good idea since I have no cats.

Must have been a lazy shop, I was able to adjust my Bassani catback so the mufflers didn't hit the driveshaft. I do admit, the Bassani center-in is kinda weird, the mufflers aren't nicely centered under the car.

Nowhere, I installed my catback myself. I also have a Bassani x-pipe with hollowed-out cats, which I also put in myself. I forget where you are here in SoCal - I'm in West LA, near the 10 & 405 interchange. I can help adjust your Bassani catback if you want, but you'll have to visit me - I can't haul my tools easily. PM me if you're interested.
