Okay, day two of the BBK off-road X with Flowmaster 2 Chambers, and I'm about to kill myself.

THIS THING SOUNDS LIKE ASS WITH FLOWMASTERS!

Who is running a BBK O/R X with mufflers that SOUND DECENT? I'm about to take it back to the shop and have them put the stock piece back on. This thing sounds beyond terrible with chambered mufflers.

What mufflers sound better, and where can I get them the cheapest? Thanks

magnaflows or dynomax ultra flows. i run magnaflows dumped and i love it, quiet when you want it to be, but some noise when you wind it up

bbk and bassani have a different style junction than those with the Dr Gas design, such as mustangtuning, slp, magnaflow to name a few. I have heard only positive comments on flowmasters with these Xs, and I've heard a lot of bad reviews about flowmasters with bbk and bassani. I have an SLP X with flowmasters, and I absolutely love the sound ...to me, it's the perfect mustang tone ...clean and smooth ...but then again, I have heard x pipe/flowmaster combos where I can see why people complain about the rasp.

Here is a soundclip of streetstang03's car ...mustangtuning X pipe with flowmasters ....I think the sound is amazing ...mine sounds very similar with my SLP pipe ...looks like you might have just got the wrong X style for the 2 chambers ...

BBK o/r X with FRPP short tubes and stock catback. Always get complimented on it, and get people asking me what mufflers I have.

LOL, I was in the same boat you are about 3 months ago. BBK O/R X and 40 flows. Loud, nasty, gut wrenchingly disgusting sounds. It was on the car for a day and a half and I didn't want to drive it. Instead of getting new muffs just sell that X and get an H. It'll make all the difference in the world.

i had a bassani o/x with three chamber flows.......man that was loud as hell and raspier than a nascar!

Now I have BBK long tubes, off road x and steeda cat-back.. sounds amazing IMO...
With the flows, as long as you're onthe gas it sounds good...lol

I used to have a BBK o/r x-pipe with 40 series delta flows, it sounded like crap, so I switched to the original Flows. It made the tone deeper but still very raspy and clangy. Now I have a MAC o/r x-pipe and the sound is awesome, no more raspy noise and it made it sound more like a 5.0 and it also doesn't hang as low as the BBK.

this is what i read here

if you have an x pipe you want to get straight thru mufflers like dynomax or magnaflows. If you have an h pipe you get chambered mufflers like the ones you have or magnapacks. That's probably the problem your having.

you should drive it around like it is for a couple more months, that way you will appreciate the switch to magnflows
