Beers Of Stangnet

Welp, the local "beer wench" (great gal, by the way) has told me that Oktoberfest is coming to an end.
Sam Adams Winter Lager is starting to appear on shelves now, although it says "Now Brighter and Fresher." It also has a green label instead of blue...
W. T. F. ?! Don't mess with my Winter Lager!! :fuss: We'll see, after I finish possibly my last 6-er of Oktoberfest...

To be continued.....

I believe they've tweaked it over the years before and it's never been bad. And for some reason, I thought last year's batch had a green label as well...maybe not.

I guess I'll see soon enough...

Honest question here; how long could I realistically keep beer before opening it? Say I were to buy some Winter Lager in December...could I stash it away until mid-January before consuming it?

Awesome...good to know.

I ask because my fiancé and I are getting married in January 2022. For the wedding, we have to provide the booze (we're just doing beer and wine). I was thinking some of the beer could be Winter Lager but it normally disappears from the shelves around here right around Christmas. So I was hoping I could stash some for a few weeks in early December to have at the wedding.

I brew my own, really not too expensive, or hard to do. I've currently got a Brunch Stout I just bottled, with a Might Axe Artic Haze IPA in secondary fermentation. Fun hobby, any serious beer snob should take up! Pretty cool, to see the fermentation process kicking off in the carboy.

Excellent brother.

It’s been about three years since I’ve brewed my last batch. I had to get rid of my ex before the next batch:D. She’s gone (but not forgotten) now:nice:.

I really need to get back into it though. An Imperial Stout is my absolute favorite stye. It seems the people in northeastern Oklahoma don’t like it that much. Our liquor stores have been on a stout blight filled in with every type of ipa known to man.

Imperial stouts take awhile and it might be almost springtime before I could enjoy it. Sometimes good things take awhile though, right?
