Beers Of Stangnet

So, this may be the last time I own a bottle that had $515 worth of alcohol in it. I got to admit, I shared most of it with my buddies at the bodyshop. Still, I probably got six shots out of it though. At $20 an ounce, that's alright with me.

Last three ounces went down so smoothly just about fifteen minutes ago. I don't feel buzzed, I feel coooooool. That's what the good :poo: will do I guess.

Sam Adams' Fresh As Helles. Thought I'd give this one a whirl tonight.

Not bad...advertised as a Helles lager with orange blossom. It's a pretty clear beer; I can definitely pick up on the orange flavor in there. Decent beer overall... 4/5, would buy again.

A new one, at least to me...I've never seen this at the local liquor store up until today. Either it is a new brew or they just haven't gotten it until now:

Flying Dog's Lucky SOB. Supposed to be an Irish Red brewed with 4-leaf clover (at least according to the bottle). When I poured it, it looks more like an amber than a red, but holding it up to light shows the red coming through. It's pretty good...a little more bitter than other Irish Reds I've tried, but not bad at all.

Been enjoying some of these tonight. The Lancaster Brew Winter Warmer is one of my seasonal favorites.

I’ve never seen those down here in Tulsa.

I got a new to me imperial stout for tonight, plus a good old barley wine as a chaser.

EDIT: The stout is rather non descript. It's good though. It's what you expect an imperial stout to be.

I also caught a nice buzz off of it:banana::cheers:.

I’m a big fan of Irish reds and Flying Dog. I’ll have to ask about that one.

How was that SN Bigfoot? I saw that in the store the other day and was wondering if it was worth purchasing. I've been hit or miss with SN beers, so I didn't want to chance it since they only had a 12 pack.

Those beers I've posted are pretty local to me and probably not widely distributed, especially the Lancaster brew and Weyerbacher. They are all at or over 9% abv, definitely start feeling those after the 3 or 4th beer.

I’m not much of a fan of Sierra Nevada myself normally. It seems they’re big because they are one of the earlier craft brewers on the market. I think if they had to start up now using their current line of beers, they wouldn’t become as large as they have.

Having said that, their Bigfoot is a very nice barley wine.

Though after the Imperial Stout it tastes a bit hoppy to me. Not a good follow up beer to the stout. I’ll have to reverse the order next time I have them.

I had two of the imperial stouts and one Bigfoot last night and I was asleep, lol. The stout is 10.5 and the Bigfoot is 9.6.
