I had a summit "bullet style" muffler put on my setup today dumped and after 20 miles of driving or so I am over the ridiculous drone. I had a Hooker max flow that was going to go on but the casing is so large its really not a good fit. Is there a muffler I can get that will quiet down a dumped setup ALOT and NOT drone? I wanted to avoid tailpipes for simplicity sake if I can.

Do u have turn downs at all?maybe try adjusting the angle to the side so it's not bouncing off the ground?

And guys get the max flow mufflers to work....why not get the right 1? They are fairly cheap from what I remember.

Even then...I don't think you'll ever escape drone with dumps. I vote for duals, max flows out the tails. Might be too quiet then lol.

This is what I am leaning towards now. I was thinking about getting the right max flow and having them put a pipe after it over the axle and down and stopping there, which I am sure would sound decent. However I have my tailpipes still and I already have a Y pipe so maybe I ought to just do that. You are right though, I wonder if maxflows with tails would be too quiet?

Only one way to find out. And you could easily swap mufflers if it is. Max flows aren't expensive either....

Hey Kurt, do u have turn downs? Every car I've been in with dumps has had that drone/reasonance/booming sound.

Toyman do u have the corsas dumped? If so....that's damn impressive. Even if u had to sell a kidney for a muffler

As stated I don't have dumps. Here's a video clip of the sound at idle, 2K, 3K, 4K and 5K. You can see sound change is not large from dB meter. This is without any engine loading which does change the tone a bit from load conditions.
