Hey everyone. I’ve been saving some coin over the past year in order to upgrade my 08 GT, 100% stock right now. I’m kind of stuck on a decision point, wanted to pole you guys. 1st does any one have a ballpark of gains from the following combo:
LT Headers
Catted H or X pipe
Mufflers
Full Intake
Custom on the Dyno tune
I’m guessing about 50-55HP – no idea on Torque

I ask because with parts / some labor and custom tune I’m looking at about 2 and half grand for this set up. For about another 2grand I could get into the Supercharger realm. I know with a moderate Supercharger I’m looking at about 100HP gains.

I’m trying to decide if I should go with the above to start or wait another year and go with the supercharger. I know there are other personal opinion variables to deal with but just asking on face value. Thanks.

Well as you know it all depends on what brand of product you go with and will all change somewhat with the tune.. I would estimate:

LT Headers: 8-15 HP
Catted H or X pipe: 5-10 HP
Mufflers: 2-6 HP
Full Intake with JLT could go up to 20+, so 10-20 HP
Custom on the Dyno tune: Depends, but around 10-15 HP?

Its a great set up no doubt and it is ALL personal opinion after that, the supercharger is cooler and will give you better gains in the long run and you can always add this stuff after one by one. I am impatient so I would go with the things I can get now. LOL.

If I was you I would go with: (I have most of this)
-JBA LT headers
-Magnaflow off road X pipe
-instead if mufflers get the full cat-back Magnaflow Magnapack exhaust. The sister site to this is Planet Magnaflow and I got an 800 dollar exhaust for 500
-JLT CAI with SCT tuner, and get a custom tune from whoever is great around you.

I have all of the above but the headers and X pipe. For sure to come though!!!

Hope this helped somewhat, but yes its all opinion based. Except those that I named are top of the line and best for mustnag. Some people will disagree but if you research it it will prove it..

Good Luck

I have all the mods you listed, I picked up 46 RWHP and 9 ft lbs of torgue at the peak. However, there are areas under the peak where I picked up 61 HP & 37 ft lbs.

I dyno tuned every part I installed on my car, here are the results

Intake 4 HP (changed the tune for MAF size only)
Dyno tune after intake 21 HP (stock tune to fat and added timing)
Stinger mufflers 2 HP (put stock mufflers back on)
Headers and O/R Prochamber 16 HP
Dyno tune after headers and prochamber 3 HP

Thanks

21MsclCr / Marc S - Thanks for the feedback.

Marc S your running stock mufflers? Everything I've read is that the stocks are very good - people pretty much change them out for a louder note rather than performance. Like your car, I've seen nice gains with an intake and custom tune 20-25HP from the dyno graphes.

I have the stock mufflers on the car. After the L/T and O/R prochamber, the stingers were to loud for me. I really like the sound of the stock muff's with the header prochamber combo.

or wait another year and go with the supercharger

If you can stand the wait time...forced induction even on stock internals will net you, way more hp. For example, my tuner on a heavily loaded mustangdyno, will comfortably go to 435 rwhp on an otherwise stock S197.

If you're going with a supercharger do it right with an intercooler.(around $5500 for a procharger).
