Cluster LED conversion WITH VIDEO!

Electrical - LED Light Conversion Completed.

Hi All, Enzio here. I just retired a few months ago and now that the weather is nicer I'm going to finish up the '76 Cobra II. There are few minor things to take care of and one was part of the LED light conversion that I didn't have time to troubleshoot last fall before the winter set in. For...

Oil pan gasket change OR starter replacement in a 302 II

Here's a quick how-to on changing an oil pan gasket on a 302 without removing the engine. It's the same steps as changing a starter more or less, so it's basically 2 birds with 1 stone. First, raise the car to an appropriate height and support it. Remove the (-) battery cable from the battery...

Here are some pdf's I've collected over the years. Most are from II.org or facebook. Alot will be covered in other posts. Some info may be outdated. I just wanted to make sure I didn't lose them and wanted another way for everyone to access them besides facebook.

Stiffer front springs:

Stiffer front springs writeup from the old .net site

Since this subject was recently brought up, here's an article from the old .net site about swapping/upgrading front springs. This is a copy and paste so as to not lose the info if the web.archive site lets it expire or goes down. That link is here. Posting so it can be added to the tech sticky...

Short writeup of Stumpy's subframe connector install:

LILCBRA said:
Woke up way too early this afternoon, since I couldn't get back to sleep I ran out to the garage - Stumpy's subframe connectors are installed. Here are a few pics of the process:

First order of business was removing the forward spring support bolts and breaking the spot welds for the retaining nuts. I used breaker bar and was able to snap them off, then used a grinder with a cut off wheel to grind the remaining welds down.

As I said previously, I worked on the passenger subframe to get the connector to fit, the driver side was beat in worse than the passenger side but I was able to get it straightened out well enough.

Here is the driver side positioned into place to drill the 3 holes to bolt the connector in. I actually drilled 6 holes per side, the inner and the outer, instead of attempting to drill straight through. Unfortunately that means I had to drop my exhaust again.

Once the holes are drilled and the bolts inserted, release whatever load you have on your jacks and tighten them to the Gutentite torque spec.
