I wanna change my throttle body from stock ,and not sure what lb they are?I know I also need to up grade the MAF at the same time so can any one help?

Throttle bodies do have lb. ratings, they rate them at airflow cfm. Injectors are rated in lbs. for amount of fuel per hour usually. mass air is also rated in airflow, Usually you want a slightly bigger MAF meter than throttle body and the MAF has to be calibrated to the injector size, and also has to have the corrrect fuel map curve, stock injectors are 19's which are good up till about 300 hp with the correct fuel pump and fuel pressure.

I have a 65 mm in there now that was stock and yes engine still stock.Just wondering what else I could change to with out changing the injectors right now ...planning on putting BBk Shorties on it next week also

Stock engines came with a 58mm throttle body, so if yours is 65 then its aftermarket, You can change to the 94-95 MAF with out changing the injector because they are cal. for 19lb as well. And the fuel maps are really close. Headers will also be good, Underdrive pulleys, 180 thermostat set timing to 12-13 degrees, do a good tune up..

I agree with everything except the headers.

They will only make you loose power and torque. Keep the stockers.

Have you seen the stock factory pinched headers before? They pinched them intentionally just to allow quick assembly at the plant. I think a garden hose is more efficient. Headers added nice amounts of power for me, and I believe torque. I say get headers.

Yes I have. I have been working on Mustangs since 1986 so I have seen plenty of headers.

I also have Dynoed back to back several combo's of headers on several engines. With stock "unported" heads, adding headers LOST power and torque in all areas.

I put the ugly stock headers back on and the power/torque went right back up.

Didn't really like the way they looked but then again I was looking for power and what worked, not looks.

With amick5's stock combo he will loose power.

That's wierd I've seen an 8hp gain on horsepower tv with a stock mustang and an equal length install.

They did lose low end though, but gained at high end. That was years ago though.

I also heard a rumor that the more back pressure you had the better the valves shut... if that's true you'd have a point

Well I dynoed my old 89 coupe and tried 1 1/2" EQL MAC shorties on my car and lost 3 hp and 5 ft lbs. Then I swapped them for FRPP 1 5/8" shorties and lost 4 HP and 6 ft lbs.

Put the stock junkers back on picked right back up.

Each time letting it cool down, (enough to swap headers) and right back on.

This is with an Edelbrock intake, stock heads, stock injectors, OR-X pipe, Dynomax catback, etc...

Thanks for all the great info. I will most likely keep the stock headers on for now and go for the bigger throtle body, egr plate ,and maf. Soon I would like to change out the intake plenum and maybe go with the ford racing intake. The bolt on's i have now have really increased my stangs proformance, I just had a tune up done and set at 11 degrees because 12 was too much pinging.only use 93 sunoco gas in my silver fox:hail2: SUNOCO
