What do you have your Spark_min_for_tip_in_retard set in your nitrous tune? Also, what do you have your max_spark_retard set to? I'm working on my nitrous tune. Lately just have not had the time to work on car but have some free time now. Basically, all I've done is put all timing back to stock. But I read about the spark retard and got concerned. Right now mine is set at 26* to match stock timing. What do you think?

Thanks

I like the thinking of leaving it at the stock seting for the tip_in_retard for 2 reasons. It knocks down timing quickly and may be a little less harsh on the t5.

I have heard some debate on WOT and how for a VERY short time your not while shifting...unless your power shifting...may take any risk of running more timing in the tip_in out of the equation. If I was to keep it higher I would of course not run any more timing than the max timing in the WOT area of the timing table.

In the end I would just rather err on safty side and just take it back to stock.

I really have not messed with my spark retard, I do have my timing taking down from the N/A side in the timing table though. I always though the spark retard was more for the boost guys...I have not really looked in on the matter in awhile, is there some new info on this on the tuning forums? I would make sure your getting the timing your commanding in your logs along with the commanded A/F before spraying.

From what I have put together on the avg. kits hp/levels its fairly simple as most use the phrase..."a good running n/a motor is a better n2o motor". Since really everything is at WOT and at WOT spark and fuel is all there really is...its kinda over simple...in that take timing out per hp (to be safe and work up if you feel the need) and give it what people have found what a/f it likes.

People have hinted that over 150 to 175 things change and get funky...but yeah there really is not much info out there. I think its one of those deals were there is a clear water shed point. Up to 150hp fallow the tried and true rules over that and its getting into not the avg. setup were racing is "secretive" and much more advanced for a hobby.

I wish I knew more but I really dont want to run that much n2o...I am the hobbist not a racer. I bet hardcore would be the place to pick some brains though....but it would prob. be for more advanced setups like staged foggers and direct port stuff.

I'm a hobbyist also. Not to big a lots of racing. I will take a look over there. I may find some info.

Thanks
