And a lot of extra weight from what I recall.

Lethal Performance has the Boss block for a little less than $2100 so hopefully the prices continue to fall.

I agree. For anything with more than 3.25" stroke, I prefer Dart, but for the $600 difference, I'd be happy to have the Boss.

I don't think lethal has updated it's site too well, they had stuff at pre covid prices for years when no one had any inventory. There about $2200 from most dealers now, ignore it and they should go lower, that thing was $1500 when they released it.

So Santa brought me the valve covers I wanted. I got a 1" spacer because I knew I was probably going to need it. I mocked up the intake with the covers that came with the motor and had a little over an inch of clearance, so I thought these would work just fine. The sheet metal ones that it came with are about 3 1/2" tall on the header side and about 2 1/2" on the intake side. Of course I couldn't find any exact dimensions for the new ones, but they're about 3 1/2" on both sides. There's no gaskets under anything yet, but man is the throttle linkage going to be close. Do I need to go to a slant edge cover? I don't really like where the breather holes are on those. What other aluminum covers have similar dimensions to the sheet metal ones?

I would not worry [too awful much] about the the breather holes...

I would imagine that there are baffles under each of those holes?

If so, you can stuff an elbow in there along a length of hose and put the actual breather into a bracket virtually, anywhere you like.

What throttle body is that? I have a 70mm BBK with the Motorsport valves covers with a 1” spacer and zero issues.

Wanted to add that the upper and lower are Edelbrock Performer RPM II’s.

The holes on these are fine, I was talking about the slant edge version covers. I like these, just wondering about this clearance issue.

It's the 70mm SVE. I think I have a 65mm BBK in my parts box. I'll have to see if it's a little shorter. You don't happen to have any pictures of your setup?

Wonder who bpe is using for hr lifters, few companies still making them, lots of reboxers and china ones now, plus the prices are getting ridiculous. Went to order a set of and my cheap source dryed up, used to be able to find decent new old stock set from Moresa, pretty easily on fleabay.

A TB spacer will move it horizontally away from the VC, only need a half inch or so to clear from what I see in pics.
Just a thought.....maybe I shouldn't.....

Thought about that, but it might cause more clearance issues with my intercooler piping

Mocked everything up with all the gaskets underneath and it looks like I can make it work. Friend of mine is an old racecar fabricator. He says he can make me a new throttle cable bracket and we can flip the ball stud to the top side of the bracket if necessary. Clearance does look a little better with all the gaskets in place though.
