Offord, depends weather or not you want to shell out 20k for a 96 and how well you'll keep it up after you get it. I'd pass on it for 20k myself but it'd be worth it to the right person. You might want to ask over in the SVT section or the 96+ section.

Nik, it really sounds like the Volvo is the way to go (for what you desire).

Or if you're not totally set on a Volvo, how about an Audi S-series or something along those lines (a la Duncan's 'winter' ride)?
