Bored with my catback

I currently have the FR500 catback and its boring the hell out of me, but no drone past 2000 RPM which is so great. I'm in Calif, so I can't replace the mid-pipe to wake things up.

When I hear mustangs with Flowmasters I am green with envy, and these are GTs. So I'm wondering about the following options:

1) weld in new mufflers into the FR500 (maybe that cross would reduce drone on the Flows too). Anybody done this?

2) replace the whole catback. I might be able to sell the FR500 being that it only has around 8000 miles.

3) stay with what I have, after all, no drone past 2000 is fantastic.

Why no midpipe? I got one and I live in the Bay Area... still got two years till smog. Just keep your stock H for smogtime. Get an O/R H and dual chamber flows.... a timeless exhaust note. It does drone at 2k rpms though, but like I said, the sound is timeless. Even the three chambers, which doesnt drone, would sound great with an O/R H.

You need to step up and get a mid pipe. There are smog legal midpipes. Living in california is not an excuse. If you wont buy a midpipe then go with option 3 and dont waste your time.

Go for #2. Should be no problem to sell the FR500.
