im going to be dropping in my new motor (S-trim on a DSS 331 w/moly rings) here soon and im trying to gather as much info as possible, now heres my question, when it comes time too breaking it in what do i do? heres what ive gathered from other threads:
1: let idle for 15-30 minutes then change oil
2: being it has moly rings go out run it till shes hot, then shut her off let her cool down. and do this process 3-5 times? change oil
3: drive normal not WOT but gradually getting up into the rpms, for 100+ miles, change oil
4: then drive it like it was stolen!
Now being that its got a S-trim is it a good idea to break it in with the blower belt on, or should i leave it off?

When my motor was professionally assembled I asked the shop what they recommended for the break-in period. Changing the oil after about 30 minutes of run time to get everything seated is a good idea. I'm not sure if they're all like this but my oil pan has magnetic drain plugs to catch all the crap that builds up after the initial run period. Make sure to clean these off if you have them. As far as piston rings, the shop said that every manufacturer they had spoken with said that the rings are fully broken in within minutes of the first start up. I drove it like I stole it straight out of the parking lot and didn't have any problems. I switched to synthetic oil at about 5000 miles.
