Hello all,
I just installed a bumpsteer set on a 88 vert with power steering. The adj. are all the way in and both wheels still point out/away from the car.The car has tube k-frame and a-arms with coilovers and i currently have the wrong camber/casters on the car(was'nt paying attention to what i was buying and have the wrong $180 caster/cambers now). The car is in the building stage and has not been properly aligined as of yet.Would this be my problem or is there an issue somewhere?

thanks
keith

Are you describing the front of the wheel/tire is pointing away from centerline?
Or are you describing the top of the wheel/tire is pointing away from the fender?

If it is the first, then your tie-rod end adjusts that.
If it is the second, then your camber adjusts that.
You castor is adjusted moving the top of the strut fwd or rear in the mount.
Bump steer is a whole different animal and you must first have the correct attitude/hieght/reference on the front suspension before tuning for that.
Get with your Kmemeber manufacturer... they should know what you need to correct for anything that changes when using their kmember.

Front of the wheel/tire is pointing away from centerline. Both front tires are pointing in opposing directions which I believe to be tie rod/bump steer end adj.I have brought both adj.to it's beginning most point and it still is out of line. The k-frame was boxed out for proper alignment when installed and manufacturer said the a-arms would bring the wheel base out which would/should give me more adj.options with the bump stop ends,im not trying to adj.bumpsteer as of yet.

So........ do you have a front steer setup?
You should only have to break the jam-nut loose on the steering rod end and turn the barrel to "pull" the nose of the tire in toward centerline. You should do both sides in increments of the same amount of threads.
You need to fab up an alignment fixture which extends the full width of your car to measure both front wheels at at the nose of the wheel or tire and then measure the front wheels at the trailing half of the wheel or tire.
Once you have it "eyeballed" close, you can use this fixture to dial in your toe alignment perfectly.
This does not however align your front wheels with centerline. To do that you need to use a "center" reference point to measure from there to the nose of both wheels and ensure that measurement is equal on both left and right wheels.
Then you would turn one barrel one way and the other the opposite to correct for your out of alignment.

thats the problem 347 im out of adj to pull them in twards center line.I just orded the new caster/camber plates from mm and ill give it a second shot once i install the plates. Thanks for all you time and help and im sure ill be back...
