I am installing rear cobra brakes on my GT. I need to pull the axels out to swap the brake brackets. This is my first time getting into the rear end. I removed the cover, and gear pin, pushed the axels in by hand and attempeted to remove the C-Clips with a magnet, I could get the c-clips to spin but it looks like the axels are not in far enough. Are the C-clips supposed to come straight out with little or no effort. If someone could give me some tips on getting the c-clips out I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Richard

On my car I had to remove the ABS sensors. They protrude through the brake sheild and are attached with a star bolt...or reverse Tork bolt...I don't really know the name of the damn thing but I stripped on out and ended up replacing both with a regular bolt. Anyway, after you remove the ABS sensors you can push the axle in a little further and the c-clips will practically fall out.
