C&L Mass Air Compared to Pro-M

pro-m is still in busniess. they were out for a little bit and has nothing to do with their product. their product is of top quality. the c&l is not a mass air. it tricks your comp into thinking it is basically. and once you get to 24's you have driveability issues. and forget it if you want to go 30's and higher.

I will have to disagree as I have an 80mm C&L with 30lb injectors and it works great. There is no tricking, as the purpose is to flow more air and ensure the fuel is sufficiently matched. Where I got my car tuned they would not have done it if I was running Pro M as it is a MUCH older technology and causes a lot of problems since it does not use the stock computer programming/language. I suggest C&L and so does my EXPERIENCED tuner, so does my supercharger manufacturer, VORTECH.

I am not too sure but wasn't Pro M the only meter that was 50 state legal with a carb #. Like I said I am not positive on that one but for some reason I remember reading that somewhere.

They need to make that claim as they switch up the programming with thier own electronics. The mustang obviously came with the proper emissions equip and parameters and C&L utilizes this as you just switch your stock electronics over. They dont need to inform thier customers of this because nothing is changed but the diameter of your air flow path.

So I didn't dream it up? Anyway, I see what your saying, Sounds logical. I can't argue with that.

I used to have a 73 MM C&L on my car, when I got the intake tube I just bought the kit, and got the 76MM. It works fine now, and worked fine before. Personally, I'd go with the C&L...not because I have it, but because its aluminum. No it doesn't have the luster of chrome, but I once heard, "You can have all the shiny s***, but it won't make you go fast." Aluminum has a higher head capacity, so it doesn't warm the air as much.

I had a C&L 73mm with 19lb injectors on my old stang with no problems. I now have a C&L 76mm/pipe with 24lb injectors and have no problems at all. I'm very happy with it.
