This morning I started wire brushing my front disc brake calipers to get all of the road crud and loose rust off, I was also looking for the P/N's that should be cast into the housings....but I have come up with several #'s that were in various locations. How do I know which ones are the #'s I want for when I go to buy the rebuild kits?

Does anyone know?

btw....the #'s I have found are 6 digits in length, and both inner halves (obviously a L/H and R/H by virtue of fitting and line placement) have the same # on them...........

Maybe there's something that I don't understand here. However, when I want to buy a rebuild kit, I just go to the parts store and tell them about my car. Then they can give me the correct kit.

If your calipers are off a different car, you just have to tell them you need a kit for that car.

Didn't write down what car, forgot it? Uh oh. :p

Here is what you don't understand.......
1)Most part store dweebs are barely literate, the MORE info you give them,i.e.: part numbers, ESPECIALLY for a Classic, the less likely they will screw up and give you the wrong item.
2) The person I obtained the parts from said they were off a '65 Mustang, however the were sitting in a pile co-mingled with several other FORDs, and again, to verify I had the right parts, it would help to have the part #'s
Thanx for the non-help!
