Can I bypass this? do i need it?

Trying to fight the surge dragon...this line goes into valve cover oil cap....into side of throttle body...Do ineed it or can i plug em up? if i do plug it up do i need a little kn type filter for the valve cover?

It's part of the PCV system. Why would you want to delete it?

There is no point in removing it. It is not causing your surging idle.

have you tested the tps throttle position sensor thats where i would start. then clean your maf (mass airflow sensor.

it is part of the PCV system as stated. 5.0's run a closed system(can't think of real term) if you unhook it and put a breather on the valve cover, you will then be letting unmetered air into the system.

I agree once again. There is NO reason to delete that. If you do, you will run into some real issues if you keep your PCV hooked up. PCV is bi-directional and that hose is what allows air back into the crankcase. An added benefit of that hose is that it also flows a little bit when the rest of the PCV system is flowing (it is an extra pathway for blowby).

If you plugged that hose (and did nothing else), you could start sucking air IN through engine seals.

ok thanks i jus saw some oily residue around it wondered if it was effecting crank case pressure... i saw other guys running breathers didnt know what to think... thanks guys while i hunt down this dragon...did the tps thing checked salt pepper shakers replaced two hoses that were cracked checked ground ... etc... i hate the dragon

If you remove it and plug the nipple on the oil spout side you will start hearing a high pitch whistle from the engine. It will also cause a ton of unwanted suction inside the engine.

I did bypass this one time and I tried to take the oil filler cap off while running and nearly needed a strap wrench to get it loose. Once I got it loose all I heard was the inside of the engine decompressing, almost as if the engine was saying "Thank you for saving my life, I couldn't breathe."
