hey, im in iraq right now just dreaming about what im going to do to my car. im curious. i have a automatic 03 gt. can the engine and tranny handle xpipe, catback, intake/tb/plenum, and a corbra killer kit with 8 lbs of boost? how much horses should that setup produce roughly and what can the stock engine and tranny take? i mean so that the car can still last me at least for a while.

Should handle it fine , Tim can tune it to be safe , how long it last would depend on how hard you drive it if you rag it out all day everyday , its gonna break , blower or no blower , and i would definitely do a big tranny cooler and check with Tim about anything else they can do for the tranny to make it hold up better .

hey, thanks for the replies. when you guys mention taking care, you mean just occasional trips to the track and taking it easy on the road? usually i drive like a granny. sometimes i like to open her up and i do go to the track 2-3 times a month will that last me? btw, i have 4.10 gears. is that bad? ive been told as long as you done go above 6000 rpms, the engine should be fine. is this true? they say thats the real reason engines break. how much would it cost to forge my rods and pistons? about 2000?

Oh wow, 4.10's with that kit is gonna be NUTS! I'd get a set of 3.73's and sell those 4.10's to someone on ebay or something.. Just dont powershift, redline, or race every honda you see and you will be fine. Good luck with whatever you decide :nice:

damn, im not liking that idea. i think ill just stay under 6000 rpms...

Currently I'm running a 00 auto GT, vortech blown at 10 psi with 3.73.

Yea, I personally think 4.10's might be too much. I'm running bout 10 psi right now with 3.73 and i think it's a little steep already. Plus when i'm crusing around 80 mph on the freeway, i'm already starting to hit boost so with 4.10's it should be even earlier... I dunno... I just don't see how much fun you can have if you are spinning first and second... also it can be very dangerous. But if you are pushing 8 psi, u might just be okay, but u better get sticky tires!!! LOL By the way, I blew 4th gear already. But i do have 90,000 miles on it. Just get a BIG Tranny cooler and if u don't drive like a maniac all the time, u will be fine!

i said damn to the forge part. i didnt not believe anyone. when does the boost come in? at the track. my car barely spins the tires with the 4.10s and stock tires. isnt that wierd? i dont drive faster than 70 on the highway (here is 55mph). so thats about 2600 rpms. i think the 4.10s should be ok since i drive like a granny most of the time.
