check the coolant level... I always have the low coolant light on and there is plenty of it.. my sender is junk but it is not worth the $100 for a new one...

Cahnge your fuel filter, your plugs and wires, oil (check for coolant) basically tune your car up, 99% of the time these type of issues are ignition related.
