My car has been shaking really bad lately, but only 80% of the time I start it. Like sometimes when I start it up it will shake crazy, but I will turn it off and turn it on and sometimes it won't shake at all. I went ahead and put a 2000 stall torque converter in this weekend, but other than that it is mostly stock. Just wondering what you guys thought the problem could be. My g/f's dad said it could be a cylinder misfiring, but I don't know

'95 gt, AODE, o/r x-pipe, American Thundercats, 2000 stall converter, cold air, 3.73's waiting to be installed....

I don't post hardly ever, I just see what everyone else is talking about :D

A 2K stall, huh?

Pulling codes is a good first start. There are myriad issues that can cause a miss like that so we take all the clues we can get.

Good luck.

I'm with Bosko5.0... My balancer came apart on me, starting with the rubber gasket inbetween the two pieces pretty much falling apart... :bang: Take a look under your waterpump, towards the bottom of the engine... See how your balancer looks, and don't be afraid to get underneath to take a peek.. Let us know how it looks...:D

Sorry guys I have been away from the computer for a few days working and havent had time to hop on. I pulled all the codes and it was all clear...111. BUT! I was driving to McD's to get a little grub and I was behind a car running about 40mph. There was another car coming in the other lane, but they were a little ways down. I take off to go past the car @ WOT and the car stopped shakin. I came to the red light about 200 yds after where I pass the car and my car stalled. When I go to turn the car back on it just makes this sound where it sounded like the car was still running when you engage the starter. I open my door and peek under the car and beautiful red fluid is laying everywhere. Needless to say, it's time for that tranny conversion

Any help with that would be great, IE: complete list of parts and/or directions. The junk yard said he had an old 94 gt 5spd sitting that he would part everything out for 750 bucks. Deal or No Deal?? I would prolly just buy a new clutch plate. What are your recommendations?? I'm on a limited budget right now.

do a search for the tranny swap there are tons of threads about what is needed. 750 isn't a bad deal, but plan on getting a new clutch, pressure plate, Throw out bearing and flywheel right away. the only thing i would worry about is you don't know the condition of the JY tranny, like how many miles
