Finding that grease is a pita. Non of the parts stores know wtf I'm talking about, they try and sell me di-electric grease.
I got performance thermal paste at Staples, hope it works.

Ok on k in the crank no start it says key on check for 12v on the green/red wire at coil ,Good 12 v replace the tfi. Is that correct? I know your supposed to have voltage there shouldn’t it be 12v?

It was a full dance card day.Primary doc @10, root canal @3 , then get the stang running. As far as grease,
that looks like the better one but not available local today,so I went with TM30 performance thermal paste from staples.
I cleaned the tfi and dist. Greased tfi up and she started right up,warmed till fan came on about ten minutes, And took it out ,she's fine.
Thanks to 89Ripper, he was 100%.

I give thanks to the big guy every night, and I do believe he put that post up for me, I was :poo:ting bricks cause I need my stang to get to work.
I'm gonna thank God for Stangnet, and its members, You guys rule!!!!!!!

That stuff you got is better than the white thermal grease you get from parts stores. It won't dry and cake like the white stuff.

That stuff you got is made by Corsair (as is 1/3 of my computer system). They know a thing or two about heat-sinks too. :nice:

Ok guys I'm into it again! Started the stang for work this sunny Sunday morning without hesitation, drove to work, parked in the garage, and was listening to the radio when she just cut off. Shut off radio turned the key and she cranked strong but didn't start. I'm like go in to work ,thank God I made it in on time, and worry later.
I figured the tfi module I put in from my garage stash bit the dust, sent wife to oh oh O'Reilly's for a new one.
After work she started right up???
What to do? Maybe its the dist.?
I'm planning on swapping out the dist. as new one comes with tfi,cap and rotor.
Any input of knowledge welcomed.
I got a warranty on tfi and dist.

What brand distbutor are you running? Did you or have you been noticing the battery symbol comming on?In my case I cheaked everything! Had both battery & alternator tested 2 different places just in case bought fp,fuel filter, regulator was on warranty swapped it,have extra coils, swapped them, swapped extra iac, cheak tos voltage,Charles both sides of coil for 12v,bought new ignition switch, swapped ecu from other car, have spark cuz I see it but I think it’s intermittent issue with the pip. I also swapped ecc relay, fuel relay, needed new plugs & wires. I bought new pip from orillys swapped it now I’m just waiting on tfi from lmr Tuesday. I also contacted d.u.i performance distbutors & they are sending me a pip & tfi even though it’s way past warranty. Asking what distbutor you got cuz the dui the gear can easily be removed without a press. What I do is I leave it idel outside few times to make sure it dosent shut off. Towing is expensive. Then when I feel like it’s ok I’ll go up the street for gas come home let idel then drive around my neighborhood few times. When I feel like it will be fine I’ll cruise it hiway till it’s safe. O & keep running for codes

Yeah I don't remember the brand dist. It was from O'Reilly's about nine years ago.
I'm just thinking the pip may have this think going nuts,so after work tommarow ill get a new replcement.
It weird that it cut off then didn't start ,then after 8 hours it starts right up.
Wife's off for the holiday so she's drop me at the job an pick me up.

mow one thing that I like about the aftermarket ones is the they add some sort of rubbery coating on the pip. The new O’Reilly is the white one the yellow one that I suspect is bad has the orange coating. I think it helps with the heat to protect the sensor. I have 2 distbutors from dui & I’m gonna fix both with new pips & tfis. My car did crank no start then it shut off while driving hiway. What its doing I start it let it idel and it just shuts off hope this is the issue little by little I hope I figure it out

I think you are heading to success, this is the last O'Reilly one for me, ill look out for a sale on a aftermarket upgraded one.

Holy turd dropping , that DUI is the hot forged one right?
Its $335 yikes.
O'Reilly's didn't have the pos one I got in 2015 so he credited me the $75 I paid then and discounted the $115 W.A.I. new one.
I still had $24 out of pocket but as long as it works.
