I have a 1986 Mustang LX with a 3.8L V6 with Throttle Boddy Injection.

I can't get it to start,it cranks and cranks, but won't fire up.I have spark,I have air...it's some type of gas issue. It "explodes" inside the throttle body.

ANy suggestions, because I am totally lost and now I am vehicleless.

Make sure when you turn the key to the on posistion (not start it), see if you can hear a hum comming from the rear of the car. If you dont, then that means the fuel pump isnt kickin on. Make sure the fuel shutoff switch is reset, I had a problem like that on my 89.

The pump kicks on.

Last thing I did was fill up the tank at BP.

But it ran fine afterwards, started up fine last night when I moved it from the street to the drive.

If there is water in the tank wont it set to the bottom that’s where the pump sucks fuel/water from? (pretty sure) ask if anybody else had problems with that station.....if so I believe there is something you can dump into your gas tank that will fix that ask your local parts store. Its like alcohol or something crazy, but its safe. ?Anybody?

I'm not sure EXACTLY where the fuel pump connects to the tank, but I would guess its a little below the midsection and parallel to the ground but not directly on the bottom. What do you mean by it "explodes" in the throttle body?
