I have a 95 cobra with a CHP 331, AFR 185s, and some other stuff, and it won't stay cool. First came the 180* thermostat, then the be-cool radiator that is supposed to be good for 750hp, and none of it works when the car is sitting for more than 30 seconds. HELP!!! I want to be able to take my car anywhere and not worry about it. It's "supposed" to be my daily driver. It rides on the "M" when sitting, and occasionally the "A". And yes, the head gaskets are on the right way.

might help

first thing first check to make sure your radiator pressure cap is working properly, next water pump. thats where i would start. the water pump is kinda hard to check since there is not much you can do short of taking it off.
just take your belt off and see if there is a lot of play on the front end of the pump where the pully rides. might be able to see if the shaft is loose. dont know if that will make a difference but its a start.

So the car only runs hot when you are idling stationary? If on the highway, etc, it cools fine?

If so that suggests the fan is not up to par. I would ensure it is coming on.

good luck.

Have you checked to see what the temperature actually is? I would do that before diagnosing based on which letter the needle is on the stock gauge. And has it always been this way, or did this start after a particular mod?
