ok, i want a catted x pipe. i can either pick up a used BBK catted X for 150 plus shipping from an someone i know in AZ. it's used with 2000 miles and looks to be in great shape by the pics he sent me. or should i get the mustangtuning catted x pipe for 270 shipped?

i hear the BBK is a higher quality piece but havent heard much about the MT one. plus i dont even know the MT will work on my 96 (i know it works on 99+ GT's).

what should i get? please response!! thanks!!

The mustangtuning x and the bbk will have two different types of sound. BBK uses a style similar to Bassani, while mustangtuning uses an x design similar to slp, magnaflow, dr gas, etc. It's all opinion, but I think the mustangtuning will give a better tone with less rasp.

Why catted? - my MD friend has emissions testing, I believe, every two years.
I too am in the market for a catted midpipe and have always been told that, with Flows, an H pipe would sound better. But with the limited selection of H pipes, I've been looking at X pipes as well. I'm kind of curious as to why the clamshell design would sound like ass, while the true X design would sound good. I'd think the clamshell (BBK, Bassani) would be more like an H. I dunno, I'm asking...sorry to be a post whore.

if mustangtuning doesnt have it call em or check pypesexhaust.com if you want a catted h on the cheap buy their off road get 2 of their minicats and cut and clamp where the cats would go, not bad for 250. ive had their catted x on my 03 for 4 months now great sound and quality, pipe still looks new and no check engine light.
