Cheapest place to buy a Vortech SC-Trim Supercharger???

That's pretty cheap for a supercharger. Mine was 3,400 plus a lot of other parts. Total bill was 5,300 for my 96 Cobra. The bill would have been much cheaper, but I also had a $400 radiator installed, a new $139 dollar gas tank (mine leaked), $450 dollars worth of injectors, instead of the cheap POS FMU etc...

yeah ive been quoted at $1,550 for a base v1 off of superchargersonline.com
there is another place who retails them for $1,795 with a $250 mfr, but I forget who it is..

Ha there actually one of the highest prices i've seen next to 50resto for a supercharger lol! I don't see where the "4less" comes from exactly?
To quote them from the email they sent me.....
"This complete Vortech supercharger system P.N. 4FA218-010 with V-1 SC-Trim 5 to 6 psi, satin for the 1986 thru 1993 Mustang 5.0L, is on sale for the low price of $1,987."
Ha what? I ain't seeing no "low price" ha... And that price is "On Sale"? Damn, i'd hate to see it when its off sale!!!

5-6lbs??? Dude...you are NOT gonna be happy with that. 5.0L's engines are WELL built from the factoy. I would go no less that 8lbs. They will even handle 10lbs with no trouble. The biggest factor with a good safe running combo is a good tune and good fuel.
Ha thank you for the concern. But actually my car is just a street car that i'd drive once in awhile. I already have a 347 novi 2000 combo in the making so this car is just a nice driver. I already got a brand new rebuild 306 stock block with TFS heads, F303, Cobra intake, etc. I mainly just want the Vortech Sc-trim because of the whining noise it makes. I've always loved the noise of a supercharger. Plus at 4-6lb with my current engine setup that should be right around 350 rwhp right? Thats exactly what i'm looking for. 350 to the wheels is perfect. Somebody correct me if i'm off but that what i figured it up to be at.
I understand. It's your car, but I just figured why not just get a couple more horses? Even if you put it to 400RWHP....that is a nice street car. My 96 Cobra doesn't have trouble with anything around town. **Now...I don't go down to organized street races or anything**, but on cruise nights, I don't have much trouble.
I agree about the supercharger whine too. It's an intimidating sound, but you just have to have enough boost to back it up. When I raced this HCI 6.0L GTO...I had a little trouble but came out by half a fender wellllll into 4th gear. If I had 10 or 12 lbs, he wouldn't even have come close.
yea i agree i had a paxton sn89 that was puttin out about 6lbs and it was a nice increase but dosent compare to my vortech now makin 10lbs, and i have no drivability issues at all i say save up n get the 8-10psi kit i got mine about a month ago and got it from Bob Kurgan at Kurgan Motorsports he had the best price he beat summits price check him out
I understand your thinking. But i actually want this car to be very streetable. My other car is built to be fast. I would even keep this car N/A but i want the blower whine. So really i have nothing to prove in this car. 350hp is perfect for my plan! Thanks for the info though!
Yeah but by spring i'll have a car that has 20lbs of boost and is crazy fast. So i'm mainly building this car just to cruise in. Not a ton of hp, just a mild car. Then i'll have 1 of each, rather then have to fast cars. Givin 350hp in a Fox is still fast in my mind.
