how do you get the clutch cable back on the clutch fork. it is too stiff for me to do it with my hands.

Have you tried having someone depress the clutch?

Try some pliers to pull it over the fork?

take a long screwdriver or something to pry with and stick it behind the clutch fork (towards the rear of the car) and pry the clutch fork to put the cable on or you can just have someone in the car depress the clutch to relieve the tension

i had somebody push the clutch in then i put a big socket behind the fork and i got the cable out. now i need it in. so i can pry it using a wrench or something. do you think the bellhousing will withstand the pressure

yes the bellhousing can take the pressure..

just put a long screwdriver/pry bar and pry the clutch fork (in the same direction as the clutch cable would pull on the clutch fork)

ok i got it on and it was not as hard as i thought. now i only need to bolt the exhaust on and the shifter down and slip the driveshaft in.
