I did a T5 swap this spring and put in a King Cobra clutch, now the clutch has about 2k miles on it, at the track once i tried to do a 2nd gear burnout but had the stupid thing in 4th, yeah im dumb!!! Anyway i smoked the clutch rather than the tires. Could that have killed my clutch just doing it that one time??? I started notcing smoke from the hood everytime I got on it, and its slipping real bad now but its in storage so im not drving it. I really dont wanna drop the tranny agian if i dont have to, ive been told a firewall adjuster could fix the problem, what should be my plan of attack?

If the clutch is shot, no clutch adjustment will help. And the only time a clutch adjustment helps is if the clutch doesn't engage all they way (meaning you have no freeplay and barely have to depress the clutch pedal to get it into gear).

As for whether the clutch is definitely toast, I would not guess without more info. But it doesn't sound real promising. :(

Good luck.

where is the engagement point during the clutch pedal travel? Like hissin said if it is catchin all the way at the top of the stroke then you might have an adjustment issue. If so you would simply need to loosen the clutch cable. You might have it overtightened. Are you having any problems getting the car in and out of gear at all....reverse? These may be signs of a misadjusted cable. But if none of those issues are present and the clutch still slips then you most likely smoked it. How long was your clutch smokeshow?! generally one mistake wont kill a clutch...but even you say in your profile you cant drive...so thats probably the problem.
