Clutch went limp...help

I was driving down the road the other day and I put in my clutch and something broke.

I pulled over and checked it out. The clutch pedal was completely free until about 2" from the floor where it began to pull the clutch release lever - not enough to free the clutch.

I am running a BBK clutch quadrant and had the clutch replaced about 30k miles ago. Both installed before I got my 91 GT.

I thought it was something with the clutch linkage. I brought it to my mechanic (who normally does a good job). He replaced the cable and said the BBK quadrant was installed wrong and removed a piece from the factory system.

I got my car back today and the clutch is extremely stiff (almost undriveable). The clutch pedal also doesn't have much spring back to it's original position after the clutch is engaged.

Any ideas? Any help is appreciated.

9 times out of 10, a stiff cable is caused by a misrouted cable. It should run under the motor mount between the engine block and the k-member and it should be a straight shot to the clutch fork connection. Check that first.
