I've killed 2 T5s on a STOCK 5.0 and street tires.

Anytime you drive a T5 aggressively, you risk breaking it.

These dudes running 10s and cutting 1.5 short times are an exception to the rule. It happens, but I wouldn't attempt it unless I had a backup ride home from the track, if you know what I mean.

I'd also like to see the 450rwhp 347 running 30lb injectors...

Ford Mustang: Mustang Tech: Transmission and Drivetrain: Borg Warner T5 Transmission data

There you have it. The T5's were to have held only to 265 lb/ft of torque while the mustang had 300 from factory. In 1990-93 is when they beefed it up but just only to hold up the power it made.

Inform yourself before you start talking garbage. Why do you think most people swap them for a tremec or some other transmission? T5's are always breaking because of the lack of power they can withstand. My friend has a mild HCI combo and he's gone through 4 different T5's

Honestly i dont take anything you have technical to say to heart because its all crap. So take your beetle and head back to the vw forums where you belong. Theres tons of people with stock t-5's and decent combos. Do some research besides rattling off nombers from a website.

It was actually 477rwhp.
Big Daddy Performance | Outrageous Mustangs - Dyno, Turbos, Superchargers, Custom Chips, Tuning, Exhaust Leroy Howell
His other car was also a 5.0 tech article car that made something like 425rwhp on 30's.

It does not take a whole lot of injector to feed a NA engine.

Using 36's on a stock bottom end NA is too much injector, it will run like crap.
Injectors are not one size fits all, besides, 36's have little use. Too much for NA setups, too little for SC cars.

Any of the information i post up is real world information i've witnessed in person, not stuff i get second hand or on the internet.

I'm not sure if it says anywhere on there what his fuel pressure is, but if you assume %12 drivetrain loss, %85 injector duty cycle, and .50 BSFC, you're looking at roughly 70psi fuel pressure to make that happen with 30lb injectors.

So, yea, its not impossible, but that's almost 2x what the factory fuel pressure is. Not exactly ideal for fuel pump performance.

But then again... We aren't talking about a 525+ hp 347, are we?

I noticed you egt Very defensive pretty quick lol. Chill out. jeez. Im not saying T5's WILL NOT LAST!!! Im saying, with his combo, if he plans on racing it, chances are that it will not last. Especially a transmission 15+ years old. My stock GT has 2nd gear grinding and about 100k miles. Those T5's in general just aren't meant to put up with that abuse.

Gforce internals are a good alternative from actually buying a whole other tranny.

Oh and about my friend, his excuse is "Bro, if i blow it up, ill just get another one". lol He gets em like at 100 bucks or less everytime. Craigslist FTW.

Oh and to RSstang. I havent said anything technical off the top o my head without showing some sort of evidence. Stop being so emotional and senitive about the topic. Youre just in need of a hug.
