1978 Ford Mustang
condition: excellent
cylinders: 8 cylinders
drive: rwd
fuel: gas
odometer: 115000
paint color: white
size: compact
title status: clean
transmission: manual
type: hatchback
Super clean and "RARE" Mustang King Cobra. Picked up the car in the mainland a few years back, has 115000 miles or so, V8 with headers and 4bbl carb. New paint with ZERO dings or rust. Very clean and runs great. To me car has everything, but you may find stuff that may not be to your taste or liking. I can tell you this you will not find a nicer Mustang II and a King Cobra at that! THIS HAS BEEN THE JEWEL OF MY COLLECTION! Lots of extra parts and with these model cars parts are scarce and very hard to find. Call if you have the cash or finances ONLY, and no joy rides. Please serious inquiries only.

I dont need help selling the car so no PayPal garbage. Thank you! I have attached the Marti report for all your specific questions.

It looks like the Cobra from post #138 has been relisted and maybe some new pics as well.

Mis-listed as a King, no carpet, iron-headed 302 in a "pro street" car, and missing some interior pieces, and he wants $12.5k...

Tubs, a fuel cell, and giant tires don't add that much value to an otherwise $5-8k car.

Disagree with price. Mustang 2 cars in that shape are becoming so rare . For somebody who wants one they really will have to travel. Ten years from now that thing will go for $20,000. I love em., wish I had one in my garage.

No carpet, missing pieces, cut up, and misrepresented, and you'd pay $12.5k?

Let me tell you about ElSuperPinto, my "Mustang II Mach 1", hell, I'll make you a deal, $10k cash and she's yours. ;)

That white one got me exited. No rust on a 30 + car has to be at least 11 grand. I like those cars a whole bunch , and if I had the money and the garage space Id take it. As you know if your missing parts on one of those your screwed. Isnt the ElSuperPinto the black one with the decals .Great car . Remember it on the dyno. I would think people buy these things with inherited money. Listed nationally theres a car for everybody

I agree with both of your points.

First, the negatives: it's a .030 302 with what appear to be stock style iron heads. We know what my car dynos and @74stang2togo 's is right there in the same ball park. So we can give a fair assumption that this car is, at best, in line with them. BUT, given the fact that it looks like it has a stock-style shifter in it, we can make an educated guess that it's also a stock II 4 speed which, as has been proven MANY times over, is not up to the task. Then, it does NOT have frame connectors in it OR a cage. Who goes through the work of back-halving a car and NOT do any of that? So now it's a question of how well it's actually done.

Now, the positives: It's back-halved. To have all of that work done it's gonna cost you a pretty penny even if you do the work yourself. I mean look at all of the components you have to buy and/or have modified. The 9 inch, the wheels, all of the bracketry, etc. It looks like a pretty clean body, the dash pad isn't all fubarred, and the seats look like they've been recovered.

My opinion, he's thrown out a decent asking price for a starter pro-street if the work is quality. But I would seriously question it unless I were able to see it all in person and/or had someone who is really familiar with back halved cars go through all of the work that has been done. But like I said, it's an asking price - I don't think it will sell for that amount. If I had to guess, he may be able to pull somewhere around $6-10K from someone who's looking for a II pro-street project.

@Potomus Pete My car is the black Cobra that was recently put up in a video on the dyno, @74stang2togo 's car is red.

No, it's a red '75 Ghia... That isn't currently running and is partially disassembled.

I was proving a point, if you're going to get all hot and bothered over an incomplete, misrepresented, hacked up II that's way overpriced, I'll tell you mine's a Mach 1 and sell it to you.

Didn't care for the leaf springs in back with trac bars / ladders? and no sub frame connectors and out board shocks

My cousin just forwarded the Facebook marketplace ad to me:

Doesn't look too horrible from the pics aside from faded carpet and the normal back bumper tear and droop. They're asking $2200.....

I wonder if that's aftermarket. I've seen pics of the sport Ghias with luggage racks but never paid that much attention to them. This one looks a little different to me somehow but I can't quite put my thumb on it......

I say that then look up sport Ghias and come up with this one (which is almost identical to my very first II - ahhh memories!!).

It looks like it may be the same exact rack...?

My old one was a deep blue, but I'm sure they come in black too.

Blue like this one:

My '74 Ghia 4-cyl/4spd had dealer-installed A/C and the decklid-mounted rack. It's crazy some of the combinations that were available.
