I called one of the local ford Dealerships yesterday and asked if they had the price sheets for the 05 and he said no. He went on to say that they won't even be getting the 05's in until Nov. or Dec. time frame. So I asked about the verts and he said it wouldn't be until the next Nov. or Dec. time frame for them. I went to another dealership last night 'to look at a car' about an hour away and while I was talking to the salesman, I just asked him about the 05's. He said not until at least Dec. so I went on about the verts and he told me the same thing. Not until Dec of 05. :notnice:

Shouldn't this really be considered the 06 then?????

I'm wondering what's the hold up?

Dealers know @#$%! I was talking to a guy who works at one this weekend and he said he was expecting the 2005 Mustangs to be on the showroom floor by the end of this week! I told him that they didn't even go into production till the begining of next week...

I heard about this from a guy on kentuckymustangs.com. He said that the reason for this is that the 04's are still sitting on the lots and no one wants to buy them becuase everyone wants an 05'. He also said that the number of 05's a dealership gets is based on the number of 04's that they sell. So until they get rid of some of those 04's, the 05's won't be coming out til December. Id imagine that in a month or two you could probably name your price on an 04' to make room for the 05's. But these could also be one of the many rumors about the 05'. :nice:

He may be confused. There is a delay on the V6 manual coupes and everything Legend Lime colored. I wouldn't expect to see either of those until Dec. The GT's, from the news I have seen, are still on track for October.

The first dealer I went to said the same thing "We aren't getting any until January." My first thought was "Who in Ford did they tick off to not be able to get any".

When I asked if I could order one, I couldn't be cause they hadn't gotten the spec sheet yet. This was last week, 8/26/04.

I then realized that he was just trying to sell me on the 04 when he said "How about an 04 instead?"

I faxed a second dealer my specs after talking to him on the phone and it's been 7 days now with no reply.

The pain in my area is that 80% of dealers have Union Mechanics picketing with no end in sight, and the ones don't are seeming very incompetent.

For the 4th month in a row, 04 Mustang sales have been horrible, down 39% in June, down 22% in July and down 31% in August. So I imaging that a lot of Ford dealers still have lots of '04s left on their lots and they are desparte to move them.

I had that happen at one dealer. I came back the same day with a spec sheet printed off the internet. He wasn't amused when I told him to start learning about it.

Let me guess, St. Louis area right? Or is that happening in a different area also?

My dealership in Atlanta is still telling me it should be in during October. It is Team Ford in Alpharetta.

Yep, that would be the place.

Sunset Ford said that they would be getting 1 car in the showroom in November just for show not sale. They are the only lot that doesn't have picketers. But I guess the reason that they aren't trying to aggressively pre-sell the 05 is because of the glut of 04s that they have.

I'd wonder if I can haggle a fully loaded 04 Cobra for the same price as an 05 Coupe the way things are going.
