A guy here at work has an EFI5.0 in a conversion van that he is getting rid of. He has a guy coming to haul it out of his driveway on the condition that he gets the C6 tranny in it.
I mentioned it to my dad and he told me that the C6 would be a different tranny altogether for the smallblock. I only inquired about it to him for the mach1 sitting in the driveway with a bad tranny in it. If there different than I dont have any interest in the C6 cause im not getting rid of the manual in my car!
So, I was just looking for some confirmation that there are different C6's for each engine size?

As far as I know small block C-6 transmissions were only made in 72-73.
My 72 Mach 1 with a 351-C,4V has a C-6.

C-6 is basically a big block transmission.

Well thats kind of what I thought. So, maybe the guy is wrong about the van having a C6 in it?

chances are if its an efi motor (meaning 87+) its either a c4 or an aod (slight possibility of an e4od, but those are usually mostly found behind 300 sixes and 351w around the 1990 model year)

Did a search on google.

The C-6 was offered in F series trucks from 67-96.

So this van may have a C-6,but I doub`t any were put behind a 302.

Maybe offered with a 351-W,and more likely the 460 engines.

There are two different C6 there are Small bell C6 for small blocks and a big bell C6 for big blocks. I've had both. I used to run one in my Falcon it has a big block and I still run one in my Mustang with my 351W which will still fit a 302.
