I just transplanted a 351w from a 94 bronco to 70 mustang. Switched to 93 mustang computer and harness. Engine was also bored and stroker to 408. installed 30 lb injectors. Engine ran on first turn of the key...so thats cool. Do i need to have the computer tuned to account for all the new stuff? If so, how do you do this w/o and OBD port?

thanks
Mike

IMHO you don't 'have' to have it done. You do leave some performance on the table without a custom tune, but I feel that the motor's components should be able to run on a 'stock' program as long as the cam isn't too radical, etc. There's a lot of things you can do so the puter will be happy and a happy puter makes a happy driver.

I ran my 408w on the stock X3Z tune, and calibrated MAF for a few months.

When I started getting the tune sorted out with the tweecer, I was pleasantly surprised at how much better the car drove.

Tweecer has a learning curve no doubt, but with the useful tools available to use with it, anybody with a little patience can tune their mustang. There are whole websites devoted to it. Tweecer RT, a laptop, EA and BE and a couple weekends of going for a drive and datalogging, then running the log through the above programs. It really is not too bad. If I could do it, and I did, anyone can.
