Does a large plug gap really cause pinging?

My problem ultimately ended up being a worn out dizzy. The shaft was buggered up bad which caused the relucter wheel to be all over the place, and subsequently took out my PIP sensor. Went and replaced the PIP sensor (under warranty) and doctored up the dizzy and she runs like brand new! No pinging at all. A pip on the way out causes bad pinging, just a FYI for everyone.

lol, and the sn pcm took all that beating for nothing, lol. Glad you found the problem though. Things like that can really be hard to pinpoint sometimes.

If you look at the spark table in that little silver box
it would make perfect sense
