Instead of continuing a beaten down old thread, I decided to post this in a new thread.

Finished one door bezel. I must admit that it looks unique, in a good way. I never would have tried this color if it weren't encouraged by JR..Thanks :hail2: Now I just gotta figure a way to paint the little things on the dash and steering wheel.. Also, I think the door handle cup would look good painted, as well as the little sq frame around the outer A/C vents.

Im not sure if the door handle cups and the ac vents would look right painted. I love what you have done so far but I think it's the contrast against the black that makes it look so good. Not sure if it will get the same affect against the tan. JMO. Looks good though!!

I may skip the door handle cup, but IM pretty sure I will be doing the little sq AROUND the vent, not the vent itself...That's how the Roush's are done.

I would have bet the farm that you dont like it Joe :(

prepare for cracking and dirtiness in the future if you drive much

I once had full yellow and have since had a total change in taste and gone back to black which is a pain!

I had to find a kit who wanted the yellow... and I had to sand down all those layers and re prep and spray with the flat black for the doors.

I started to do them for people, they were paying me for it because i was the only person local who could do them cleanly... even the body shops screwed it up

I had them the gold color for over a year, with just some slight dirtiness...NO cracking....I primed them well, used several light coats, and good clear coat, and good drying.

Thanks for the compliments...needed to change things up a bit.

It came out great RC! Mine are still sitting in the garage partly sanded :rlaugh: Need to take an hour away from the girl so I can finish it I guess :) Been about 4 days now since I took them off

did you ever post a pic when you painted around the shift bezel cuz i have never seen anyone paint it like that and i was thinking about it

Yeah, I painted the Center bezel first..posted it, then added a post when I finished the trim..
NOW, it is continuous with the upper color, but yet the black still flows with the rest of the dash curves..

JR suggested it..

Where the h3ll is he anyway...I wanted him to see this.

i'm sorry to be the bad apple hear but i think it looks out of place. to each his own, but i would try to get the interior all one color before adding another color on there. if all of your interior was black, then it would look sweet, but that's just me. :D

No probs...I think when I do a few more "accents", it will look balance a little more....At least it is different from all the others!
