99 Mustang GT door chime will not shut off door open or closed. Checked all doors including trunk everything shut tight and it appears that the chime is part of the black box on the driver side under the dash by the firewall.... How do I disconnect this without affecting anything else. I unhook my battery because I didn't want it draining it. Where are the door switches that control this chime?

FWIIW, the black box that you are referring to is called the GEM. IF you were to disable the GEM then more than the door chime would be affected. Functions such as inside lights, one touch window down, automatic door locks. Radio delay.
To me it would be much simpler, easier, and a better end result to either fix or disable the door ajar switch located inside the driver's door.
